About Me
Hello, my name is Thomas Landess. My mission for Savage Son Woodworks is to provide a piece of furniture that not only I am proud of, but that will also be cherished by many generations to come. Savage Son Woodworks is a one man operation most of the time. Skylar(my wife) is always willing to pitch in and help if need be, and has always been my biggest supporter. The main difference between Savage Son Woodworks and the big furniture stores is the quality of the furniture. Most furniture sold at the major retailers is veneered and not really made fully from hardwood. This furniture will be good in the short run, but will fall short of the expectations in the long run.
I have definitely taken a very unique path in getting to the woodworking profession, but I know I'm finally doing what I was made for. I was born in the Oklahoma Panhandle, but raised in the Texas Panhandle. The one thing that both these places have in common is that if you wanted to succeed you had to be a hard worker. I attended college at Hardin-Simmons University with a bachelors in economics. I was ready for the big business world, and landed a job at a bank. It was awful. Sitting all day doing the same thing again and again was not something that I was able to handle. My wife started travel nursing and I quickly ended my banking career and was happy to try something new. We soon found ourselves in Fargo, North Dakota. I applied to a small local business that made handcrafted furniture. I quickly fell in love. My hard work was quickly rewarded with a manager position. I loved that job and position, but the only thing that was missing was our friends and family. This is what led me to start this woodworking business. Being able to share my passion with the communities where I was raised is a rare and meaningful opportunity.
I am very grateful for this path and all the opportunities placed before me. I am look forward to getting to serve you. Contact me using our custom inquiry page.
